A self-defense expert shares simple tips to make sure your family stays safe while out and about.

Jeff Cvitak with Martial Arts USA believes there are a few things you can do to better protect yourself and others during the hustle and bustle.

“Stalking has always been there, but phones make it worse,” said Cvitak. “It takes that virtual stalking, and people want to continue that into the real world.

When loading up your car, kids go in first. Then use the side door as a protection.

“Drop your packages and put them in one at a time,” he said while demonstrating.

Don’t carry a lot of bags. Always have one hand free.
