SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Each Sioux Falls neighborhood has a unique vibe, and sometimes, unique challenges. A business owner in the Whittier neighborhood just east of downtown has some solutions to a unique challenge in the neighborhood.

Owning a small business near some of the resources for the unhoused can also be a calling to help others.

“Sometimes it’s emergent, and we have to drop what we’re doing to help somebody because that’s just what you do,” said Good NAtured owner Shannon Ward.

Ward and her friends took a man under their wing. He has a reputation as kind, but without a home.

“I went with him when he got his ticket just to understand what exactly the process was,” Ward explained.
