U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has sparked conversation by suggesting that travelers should dress more formally when flying, advising against wearing pajamas and slippers.
The days of dressing up for air travel in suits and ties seem to be a thing of the past, as many passengers now opt for more casual attire, including pajamas.
Kristen Foster, whose daughter was wearing pajama pants on a hectic travel day through Orlando International Airport (MCO), said, "Yeah, she's in high school, and a lot of them do it. She was slow to get up this morning."
During a news conference at Newark Liberty International Airport on Monday, Duffy said, "Dress with some respect, whether it's a pair of jeans and a decent shirt," and advised travelers to "try not to wear slippers and pajamas as we c
