LSU agrees to pay Brian Kelly’s full buyout after lawsuit

BATON ROUGE (WVUE) - The Fox 8 Sports Team confirmed that LSU has agreed to pay ex-coach Brian Kelly’s full buyout.

The agreement comes two weeks after Kelly filed a lawsuit seeking a declaratory judgment that he was terminated without cause and is owed his full buyout of about $54 million through 2031.

Kelly’s lawsuit was first reported on Tuesday (Nov. 11) and officially filed on Wednesday (Nov. 12).

Kelly’s 10-year, $95 million contract calls for 90% of his remaining pay if he is dismissed without cause, paid in monthly installments.
