Missing Stockton woman found dead with stab wounds as detectives search neighborhood

Stockton police have opened a homicide investigation after a 31-year-old woman was found dead with apparent stab wounds inside a vehicle Tuesday afternoon. Detectives found the woman while searching for her as part of a missing person investigation in the area of Venetian Drive and Lido Circle. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and police have not released her name. Neighbors said violence of this kind is unusual in the area, and Pastor Kevin White visited the neighborhood to honor the victim and pray for peace. Police say the killing appears to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Stockton Police Department’s non-emergency line.
