JANESVILLE, Wis. -- More than 600 Alliant Energy customers in Janesville were without power Wednesday evening. Power was restored just after 7 p.m.

According to the utility provider's outage map, 612 people in the Janesville area were without service. The outage began at around 6 p.m.

The outage came in the midst of widespread snowfall across southern Wisconsin, and high winds pushing temperatures below freezing.

Alliant also reported over 200 customers without service outside Lake Delton and over 1,200 customers in Kenosha County were without service Wednesday evening. Those customers were still without service as of 7 p.m. Wednesday.
