NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WFSB) - The Connecticut State Police graduated 38 new state troopers during a ceremony at Central Connecticut State University.
The 137th Training Troop completed 28 weeks and more than 1,500 hours of training that included physical conditioning, driving, firearms, active shooter response and other specialized police work.
Governor Ned Lamont and Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz attended the ceremony along with state police leadership.
The class includes 37 men and one woman, ranging in age from 21 to 39 years old. Among the graduates, 10 have military experience, two have prior law enforcement experience, and 24 hold bachelor’s degrees.
The new troopers were assigned to 11 State Police troops throughout Connecticut:
Troop A, Southbury - 2 troopers
Troop B, Canaan - 3
