WASHINGTON, D.C. — A widely sold outdoor cooking product is being recalled after federal officials received more than two dozen reports of explosions and fires tied to the unit, resulting in several burn injuries.
The recall, announced Wednesday by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) , involves about 201,000 tabletop camping stoves sold by Ozark Trail and distributed through Walmart’s stores and website. Officials said the devices pose a fire and burn hazard and should no longer be used.
The affected product is the Ozark Trail Tabletop 1-Burner Butane Camping Stove, model BG2247A1, manufactured by China Window Industry Co. Ltd, CPSC said. The model number appears on a gray label inside the stove’s fuel compartment. The dark-green stoves are marked with an orange “Ozark T
