MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa —
There's a new chapter beginning at Marshalltown's Riverside Cemetery — one filled with healing, companionship and hope. Scout, a gentle new goose, has joined Frankie at the cemetery pond, bringing comfort after a difficult season.
Just weeks ago, Frankie lost Blossom , his devoted mate whose life touched people far beyond Marshalltown. Their story — sparked when the cemetery famously placed a "lonely goose seeking companionship" ad on Facebook — became a symbol of love found when least expected. Together, Frankie and Blossom were inseparable.
Losing her hit Frankie hard.
Now, Scout's arrival offers a soft and tender continuation of that story. She isn't replacing Blossom — no one could — but she is bringing warmth back into a place that felt a little too quiet.
