PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Gov. Katie Hobbs is calling on state lawmakers to pass five tax breaks for middle-class Arizonans that mirror policies from President Donald Trump’s federal tax legislation, despite her previous criticism of the “Big Beautiful Bill.”
Hobbs wants the Republican-controlled Legislature to increase the standard deduction by $750, give seniors an extra $6,000 write-off, and allow Arizonans to deduct tips, eligible overtime and interest on auto loans for American-made cars.
“I think we should all be able to get behind middle-class tax cuts that benefit most Arizonans,” Hobbs said.
