PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ (AZFamily) — Deputies in northern Arizona have identified two suspects they say are tied to a recent ambush on law enforcement and other shootings in the Prescott Valley area.
The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office said Alex Heredia-Rivera, 21, and an unnamed 17-year-old boy were arrested Tuesday in connection to the crime spree.
Authorities said that on Sunday, deputies were working with Prescott Valley officers when they were reportedly shot at by the two suspects who had a green laser. One round struck a YCSO vehicle, narrowly missing the deputy, the sheriff’s office said.
Not long after, the sheriff’s office found the suspect’s truck, a black 2021 Chevy Silverado where they confiscated firearms and detained everyone inside.
