PENDLETON, N.Y. — Niagara County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a string of vehicle thefts that happened on Tuesday in Pendleton.
Deputies say several cars were broken into on Creekbend Drive, and two were stolen from homes on Edgewater Circle. Deputies were first notified of the activity at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday.
New York State Police later spotted one of those cars, a 2015 BMW, on the Thruway in Cheektowaga and took the driver into custody.
Roberto Leon III, an 18-year-old from Buffalo, is now facing felony grand larceny and criminal mischief charges. He was also cited for an unlicensed operation violation.
Leon is being held in the Niagara County Correctional Facility while awaiting arraignment.
