CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Chicopee Fire Captain Katie Collins-Kalbaugh earned high honors from Governor Maura Healey at the Massachusetts Firefighter of the Year Awards on Tuesday. Captain Collins-Kalbaugh is the 2025 recipient of the Norman Knight Award for excellence in community service named for the co-founder of the Hundred Club of Massachusetts.

She has been educating youth on fire safety since 2009 and served has a fire prevention officer for the past 11 years. Currently, she is also a fire investigator and public information officer and revered as a “force of nature.”
