WALTHAM, Mass. —
Grocery carts were piled high as shoppers braved the pre-Thanksgiving rush at stores across Massachusetts.
Hundreds of people packed the Wegmans in Chestnut Hill to grab turkey, stuffing, and all the fixings.
Most places only sold fresh turkeys because the frozen ones won't be ready to go for Thursday.
A similar story unfolded at the Stop & Shop in Dedham, where many people stuck to buying prepared food to make their lives easier for Thanksgiving dinner.
Despite the crowds, many reported the rush wasn't as bad as they had anticipated.
"I thought it was going to be more of a blood bath in here than it really is," said Chris Moncreiff.
