HOLT, Mich. (WILX) - Law enforcement agencies are deploying additional patrols on Wednesday night as the evening before Thanksgiving ranks among the busiest bar nights of the year.

Sheriff’s deputies are watching for impaired drivers and conducting compliance checks at local establishments as travel and holiday celebrations converge.

“There’ll be added patrols tonight. Law Enforcement will be stopping into bars and doing bar checks and making sure the bars are in compliance, not over-serving people,” said Sgt. Cheryl Huhn with the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office.

Huhn said officers look for specific behaviors that suggest driver impairment during patrols.
