MUSKEGON, Mich. — Community members in Muskegon say they are upset that an adoptive mom, accused of killing her daughter over the weekend, received charges and a bond limit they don't agree with.
On Wednesday, more than a dozen community members gathered in front of the Muskegon County Courthouse to protest against the charges and bond made for Sherry Leak.
Leak is accused of killing her adoptive daughter Mialah Leak over the weekend, after sitting on her long enough for her to lose consciousness.
The protestors held signs and chanted things like "no justice, no peace" as cars drove by honking their horns.
