ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - In the aftermath of the longest federal government shutdown in United States history, combined with ongoing tariffs between the U.S. and many of the world’s top exporters, shopping for Black Friday and the holidays could be more difficult for online shoppers this year.

According to Dr. Dan Rice, Associate Professor at the LSU College of Business, Gen-Z is expected to cut back on overall spending by about 23% this holiday season.

Dr. Rice described the current U.S. economy as ‘K-shaped’:
