Thanksgiving is here, and whether you are traveling to a friend or family member's house or hosting the festivities at your own home, consumers will have options if a last-minute trip to the grocery store is needed.

While banks and post offices will be closed, some grocery, retail and restaurant chains will remain open on Thanksgiving, albeit it mostly with adjusted hours.

Walmart, however, will not be an option for you this year, as the company told USA TODAY their stores will be closed. Stores will reopen at 6 a.m. local time on Black Friday, the company confirmed to USA TODAY.

What grocery stores are open on Thanksgiving?

Here is a list of grocery stores that will be open on Thanksgiving. Hours are listed for the companies that provided them.

  • Kroger: Most stores will close at 4 p.m.; however, store closing times vary by location
  • Food Lion: Closing times vary by location
  • Meijer: 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Whole Foods: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.; stores in Massachusetts, Maine, and Rhode Island will be closed
  • Harris Teeter: Stores close at 2 p.m.
  • Wegman's: Stores close at 4 p.m.
  • Sprouts Farmers Market: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Giant Eagle: Stores close at 3 p.m.
