The city of El Paso has received a $13.4 million Transportation Alternative Set-Aside grant from the Texas Department of Transportation to design and build new shared-use paths in South El Paso. The project will add pedestrian and bicycle pathways along portions of Magoffin Avenue, Piedras Street and Paisano Drive from Cotton to the Bridge of the Americas. The grant was awarded through a competitive statewide process and is intended to expand safe transportation options for nonmotorized users.
