Mum to get an extra £900 a month after Budget benefit change View Image

A mum-of-five estimated she will get an extra £900 a month in benefits after the two-child benefit cap was scrapped in this week's Budget. Stay at home mum Lisa White, 31, raises five children between the ages of three and ten with her partner, David White, 35, at their home in Monmouth, south Wales.

The couple have been relying on Universal Credit and child benefits to get by since David was signed off work due to mental health issues, and currently get around £1,900 a month in benefits. Lisa estimates she'll get a total of £2,770 a month from April, due to Rachel Reeves' Budget.
