West Mercia Police have confirmed that the case is being treated as a murder investigation. Initially, five men, aged between 22 and 35, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder shortly after the incident. A sixth man was taken into custody later that afternoon.
Detective Chief Inspector Lee Holehouse expressed condolences, stating, "First and foremost, our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim. I know this incident has shocked the local community."
He reassured the public, saying, "We're working hard and at pace to understand what happened yesterday, and that at this stage there is nothing to suggest any wider risk to the public."
