A busy road in Stoke-on-Trent has been closed following reports of a child being knocked over. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, are currently at the scene.
Dividy Road in Bentilee has been shut between the junctions of Vowchurch Way and Thurston Way. The alarm was raised at approximately 8am this morning, prompting a swift response from emergency teams. A West Midlands air ambulance landed on The Green to assist.
Traffic monitoring system Inrix has confirmed that the A5272 Dividy Road is closed in both directions due to the incident.
While police have not yet confirmed the specifics of the situation, local reports indicate that a child was involved in a road traffic collision. One neighbour recounted, "I heard a screech and a thump but didn’t really see anything. I then saw police, a helicopter, and an ambulance coming down Dividy. I was told by some college teens that there was a young child involved with a road traffic collision."
Staffordshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service have been approached for further statements regarding the incident. The situation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
