Nothing notes the arrival of the Christmas season more than the lighting of a tree.

In the Augusta area, several Christmas tree lighting festivals are in the works. All will feature a tree lighting ceremony, festive music, and refreshments. Downtown Augusta's event also includes fireworks, and Columbia County's tree lighting offers ice skating nearby.
