AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Holiday travel is in full swing as millions of people hit the roads, rails and skies for Thanksgiving – and gas prices are down from a year ago.
The U.S. average price is $3.03 a gallon today, down from $3.07 a year ago.
Georgia’s average price is $2.84 a gallon, down from $2.93 a year ago. Augusta’s average price is $2.78 a gallon.
South Carolina’s average price is $2.70 a gallon, down from $2.79 a year ago. The average in Aiken and Edgefield counties is $2.74 a gallon.
Holiday travelers fill airports and roads for Thanksgiving
Hundreds of passengers moved through Augusta airport gates as the Thanksgiving travel rush began in earnest.
