CCTV has been released after a man was punched unconscious at a Manchester city centre bar.

The victim, a 20 year-old man, sustained 'significant' injuries including a fractured cheekbone and jaw, Greater Manchester Police said as an appeal for the public's help was issued.

The force's city centre division have now issued a CCTV image of a man officers want to speak with in connection with the attack. Officers believe he may be able to help the investigation.

Anyone who recognises him - or anyone with information - is being asked to come forward.

Police said the victim was attacked by an 'unknown male' who punched him in the face at Impossible on Peter Street in the city centre.

He was rendered unconscious in the attack and went on to need surgery, the force added.
