Christmas starts early at Globe Theatre with “a holiday ghost story you won’t soon forget.”

Globe’s presentation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol officially opens Friday night and continues Saturday-Sunday. Due to high demand, the show’s month-long run has been extended to Dec. 28.

“Set against the cobblestone charm of Victorian London, this adaptation of Dickens’ classic novel invites audiences into the journey of Ebenezer Scrooge, a man whose heart has long been closed off to those around him by his own pain and regret,” says a news release. “During a Christmas Eve haunting by three spirits, Scrooge is reminded of what truly matters: kindness, generosity, and our shared responsibility to keep the spirit of the season alive all year long.
