I’m writing to express my concern about a major national crisis we are facing today — the crisis of childcare. Many everyday American families are struggling tremendously with the high cost and lack of availability of childcare options. This should matter to everyone as it deeply impacts families in many areas, families that are the foundation and structure of our society and economy.

Childcare has become so costly that many families’ income cannot cover the prices, forcing them to spend more money than they can afford or to settle for lower quality care options.
