Royal Ascot-winning jockey Martin Harley reckons a prolific streak of success is down to his unusual part-time job. The 36-year-old, originally from Co Donegal, Ireland, rode for 15 years in Britain enjoying his best season when he rode 103 winners in 2012, his mounts earning more than £1 million in four campaigns.

He became a Classic winner for the first time in 2012 when capturing the Irish 1,000 Guineas on Samitar, won the Prix Royal Oak a year later on Tac De Boistron and, through his association with sprinter Goldream, landed the King’s Stand Stakes and Prix de l’Abbaye in 2015.
