Expert has highlighted a common mistake that dog owners may be making when it comes to feeding their pets and how it could be affecting their longevity

A pet nutritionist has revealed that dog owners can dramatically increase their pets' lifespan by simply providing them with proper nutrition. Whilst dogs typically live between 10 to 13 years on average, this can vary considerably based on breed.

Sandra Martínez, a specialist pet nutritionist, explained to La Vanguardia that proper nutrition for dogs and cats is crucial not only for longevity but also for preventing various health issues including digestive troubles, arthritis , and allergies. She also stressed that many pet owners could be making a critical error by giving their animals some of the most popular food types.
