Sandie Peggie’s lawyer has said JK Rowling did not ‘bully’ the transgender medic at the centre of the employment tribunal by sharing their ‘deadname’ on social media.
Lawyers acting for Ms Peggie were ordered to redact employment tribunal documents containing Dr Beth Upton ’s birth name during a hearing in Dundee in September.
But that caused a social media storm on X, with prominent figures such as Ms Rowling and Canterbury Labour MP Rosie Duffield repeatedly sharing the name.
It quickly emerged aa a trending topic, despite Dr Upton and NHS Fife ’s lawyer arguing it was “harmful” to Dr Upton.
