A new Wetherspoon is set to take over the former premises of a landmark Edinburgh pub.
The Spoons will move into 134 Dundee Street, the site of McCowans Brewhouse in the Fountain Park retail park.
Wetherspoon has obtained planning and licensing permissions but onsite or opening dates are yet to be determined. The new pub is subject to the grant of a building warrant and the transfer and variation of the premises licence, according to a Wetherspoon spokesperson.
Edinburgh locals were gutted when the McCowans staff announced the popular pub's closure in 2024.
It had been serving punters for 25 years but sadly closed its doors early in August after Greene King decided not to renew its lease.
