Are you ready to kick off the holiday season?
It’s that time of the year again, when the streets of Manhattan turn into a technicolor snow globe and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade makes our morning a little brighter.
One of the largest in the world, the parade began in New York City in 1924 and has been an annual tradition since, except for 1942 through 1944 due to World War II, as noted by Macy’s .
Just a year away from its 100-year anniversary , the highly anticipated event will feature 32 balloons, three balloonicles, 27 floats, four specialty units, 33 clown groups, 11 marching bands, performance groups and musical stars, “all welcoming Santa Claus and the holiday season.”
There's something nostalgic about waking up, making breakfast and watching these giant characters
