IKEA is coming to Alabama and the home store chain with a cult following is hiring.

IKEA is opening a new store in Huntsville, its first location in Alabama, in early 2026. It will be located at the University Place Shopping Center at 6125 University Place Dr. in Huntsville near Research Park Blvd., Mid City and Bridge Street Town Centre.

On its website , the chain said it is hiring 12 full-time retail store associates for the Huntsville store. Among the duties listed for the position are stocking merchandise, build furniture as needed, prepare and serve IKEA food items and work with customers.

One year of retail experience is needed, preferably in the home furnishings field.

Pay range is $17.77 - $25.31 per hour.
