CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, first responders sprung to an apartment fire at 132 East Main Street for an apartment fire following an activation of a fire alarm.

Upon arriving, firefighters spotted an active fire in an apartment on the third floor. Thankfully, the resident of the home was able to leave the scene safely and without injuries.

Fire crews quickly managed to put the fire out without any injuries as well. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
