Glide Memorial Church in San Francisco was preparing for its annual Thanksgiving community feast, expecting more people showing up for help than in recent years.

The foundation was gearing up to serve more than 2,500 meals for Thanksgiving.

The Glide Foundation says it's making every effort to meet growing food insecurity. The foundation held a turkey drive Tuesday and Wednesday, but the numbers keep climbing. Dr. Gina Fromer, the president and CEO of Glide Foundation, spoke about the high food demand this year and what they expect ahead of Thanksgiving.

Glide expects to provide nearly 2,500 meals, served and delivered, which is more than last year. They believe families are facing anxiety with inflation and rising costs.
