Care home where man died in fire vow to make residents lives better

A north Liverpool care home has turned its fortunes around four years on from a tragic blaze that claimed the life of a resident. Back in 2021, police and fire officers were called to Brook View Care Home on Longmoor Lane in Fazakerley .

Smoke was billowing from the care home which is situated in the grounds of Aintree University Hospital. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a man’s body was found inside the property.

A targeted inspection by health watchdogs was undertaken in December 2021 following the man’s death days earlier. Now, in its first formal inspection since the heartbreaking fire, the care home has received a clean bill of health.
