A driver was rescued from their SUV after it slammed into a utility pole on early Thanksgiving morning in Ridgefield Park, firefighters said.

It happened just before 2:40 a.m. at 116 Main St.

Photos from the scene show a large red SUV with heavy front-end damage and a snapped utility pole with a downed transformer.

Fire crews said they arrived to find the pole severed with entrapment.  Firefighters from Engine 1 and Truck 2 worked at the scene, and Teaneck Squad 23 was called in to assist.

The trapped occupant was removed, officials said. The scene was then turned over to Public Service to handle the hazard in the roadway.

Daily Voice reached out to police for additional details.
