A violent attack outside a Wawa left a man with serious facial injuries, and the suspect is now in custody months after the assault, Lower Southampton Township Police announced on Thursday, Nov. 27.
Rahmatjon “Rocky” Naimjonov, 20, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant tied to the July 22 assault at the Wawa on East Street Road in Feasterville, according to the release. The victim was struck with brass knuckles during the unprovoked attack, police said.
The victim later identified Naimjonov as the attacker. A public post on the Mediterranean Abington Organization’s Instagram page identifies Naimjonov as the group’s event coordinator and a biology major at Penn State Abington.
A public commenter on the post described “Rocky” as having a “magnetic personality,” “boundless energy,” and “unwavering kindness,” saying he “left an indelible mark on everyone he encounters.”
Naimjonov is charged with Felony Aggravated Assault, Misdemeanor Possession of an Instrument of Crime, Misdemeanor Simple Assault, and Summary Harassment, investigators said.
He was processed and given a preliminary arraignment before a district judge, police said.
