ALPENA COUNTY — An officer involved shooting is under investigation. Michigan State Police said detectives are looking into a shooting involving Presque Isle County sheriff’s deputies, though the incident happened in Alpena County.

MSP reports no deputies were hurt. The suspect was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. M-65 near Leer Road is expected to remain closed for some time while investigators process the scene.

State Police said there is no threat to the public, but drivers should avoid the area and find an alternate route. Updates will be released as more information becomes available.
