SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - Four fishermen are thankful for their Tuesday morning rescue after spending 20 hours clinging to their capsized boat 26 miles from shore.

Dennis Woods and three other fishermen set out Monday for Woods’ 70th birthday fishing trip. The group included an 18-year-old and a 90-year-old.

“It was probably less than 5 minutes before it rolled, and I didn’t have time to contact the coast guard,” Woods said.

The celebration turned into a nightmare when their catamaran overturned on Monday evening.
