According to the Lake County Coroner’s Office, the 37-year-old man was underneath a vehicle in the 300 block of West Liberty Street in Wauconda Tuesday morning when the vehicle fell on top of him, pinning him underneath.
Wauconda firefighters lifted the vehicle and pulled the man out, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy determined the victim died from blunt force injuries as a result of the incident, the coroner’s office said.
