DOWNEY – Two people were killed in a two-vehicle collision on the Golden State (5) Freeway and an investigation into the crash is underway, the California Highway Patrol reports Thursday.
CHP officers were called at 11:37 p.m. Wednesday to the southbound freeway and the Lakewood Boulevard off-ramp where they found the victims, a gray car and a second vehicle blocking the middle lanes of the freeway
The victims, whose names, genders and ages were not immediately known, were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Downey Fire Department.
The crash blocked multiple lanes of the southbound freeway for more than three hours.
