The Cal Poly Pomona women’s soccer team continues to thrive under pressure.
The No. 4-ranked Broncos, last year’s NCAA Division II national champions, have yet to allow a goal through the first two rounds of this year’s Division II Tournament and now face a third-round matchup against No. 21 Azusa Pacific at Kellogg Stadium in Pomona on Saturday at 3 p.m.
“Azusa’s a great team and a familiar opponent, but this group has battled all year and we’re excited for the next challenge,” Cal Poly Pomona coach Jay Mason said.
Mason’s side wrapped up a second consecutive California Collegiate Athletic Association regular season title but was eliminated from the CCAA’s postseason tournament after a 1-0 loss to Cal Poly Humboldt on Nov. 14.
