1NANJEMOY, MD – Rescue crews responded Wednesday afternoon after a vehicle was discovered submerged in the Nanjemoy Creek near the end of Friendship Acres Road.
The Tenth District Volunteer Fire Department’s Surface Water Rescue Team deployed a boat and a rescue swimmer to inspect the vehicle and surrounding waters.
Fire officials confirmed that the vehicle was unoccupied when checked.
Rescuers assist with recovery operation
After verifying no one was inside, crews assisted with a winching operation to pull the vehicle back to shore.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of how the vehicle entered the water has not been released.
