Turkey Trot draws nearly 2,000 Participants, raises funds for UVA Health Children’s

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) — Nearly 2,000 runners kicked off Thanksgiving morning at Boar’s Head Resort for the annual Turkey Trot, a community tradition that supports UVA Health Children’s.

The 5K raises money for programs across the children’s hospital, including the neonatal intensive care unit, outpatient clinics and pediatric cancer care. Organizers say the event helps provide critical resources for young patients and their families.
