Forty-one percent of Kelowna city workers did not provide their gender on an employee survey aimed at ensuring fair pay between men and women.

Details of the ‘Pay Transparency Report’, mandated by the BC NDP government for all employers in the province with more than 1,000 workers, were posted this month on the city’s website. The posting has not been referenced among the 20 news releases issued so far this month by the city.

“(This) report highlights pay gaps for women and non-binary staff, offering a snapshot that drives continued progress in equity efforts at the City of Kelowna,” the report states.
