Forward Samuel Blais is back with the Canadiens.

Actually, make that the Laval Rocket.

The Canadiens announced Thursday afternoon they had claimed Blais off waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs and he will report to their AHL farm team. The Canadiens signed Blais to a one-year, US$775,000 contract as a free agent on July 1, but after he was cut at the end of training camp the Maple Leafs claimed the 29-year-old Montmagny native on waivers on Oct. 6 before he could be sent down to Laval.

Blais played eight games with the Maple Leafs, posting 1-3-4 totals and a minus-2 rating.
