A 27-year-old Guelph woman was charged with assault in connection with an incident in which a paramedic was spat upon, say police.

Guelph police said on Wednesday, at 4:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to an address on Woolwich Street, near Speedvale Avenue, where a woman was reportedly in medical distress.

Officers said that the woman became unco-operative. Police said she spat on the paramedic’s face.

She will appear in court Jan. 13.
