Heidi Hess isn’t sure what she’ll do with herself once she retires — and it’s little wonder.
The trailblazing Owens Community College instructor hasn’t had much free time up until now.
“I am so used to having three jobs my whole life,” Ms. Hess said. “I have had three jobs since I was a teenager. I am just glad that I read a lot.”
Ms. Hess will be retiring from Owens Dec. 10 after teaching for 37 years in the EMT program, marking the end of a teaching career that started in 1988.
“I have three siblings who live in Ocala, Florida, so I am going to visit with them for a little bit,” Ms. Hess said. “I will continue to teach for Mercy Health Life Flight Network and CPR and advanced life support at area fire departments.”
