An 18-year-old woman has been arrested by tactical officers following a stabbing and a three-hour standoff in the city’s south end, Sarnia police say.
Two females teens got into an argument over a perceived insult in the 800 block of Devine Street on Tuesday, police said. It turned physical despite the younger of the two trying to disengage multiple times, police said.
The older teen produced a folding knife, and stabbed the 17-year-old in the upper left arm and lower back.
“While the back injury appeared minor, the arm injury was significant,” police said.
The teen was treated at the scene by paramedics around 9:30 p.m., and taken to Bluewater Health for further treatment.
The perpetrator fled before officers arrived, police said.
